Kingdom Come
Sometimes it seems like Christians can't decide if they are supposed to bring the "church to the streets" or the "streets to the church" or the church to their homes or their faith to the workplace or any other combination of things.
Jesus taught His disciples to bring the Kingdom to Earth. The whole Earth.
He did not teach; "Repent for the church is near."
He said, "the Kingdom is near."
He told them to pray "Your Kingdom come", not "the church to come".
The purpose of the church is to be an expression of the Kingdom in each unique setting.
The church is not the Kingdom. The church is supposed to reflect the Kingdom, but for now the church is imperfect. The church needs to be regularly and consistently remade to better reflect the Kingdom of God.
Let's stop using terms like "churched" and "unchurched". Those terms were created by people who are "over-churched". Let's wrestle with whether people are discipled in the ways of the Kingdom. This applies to those who follow Christ and those who don't.
Many of us are called to bring the Kingdom to the church. Many are called to bring the Kingdom to the business world. Many are called to bring the Kingdom to families. Many are called to bring the Kingdom to nations. Every Christian is called to bring the Kingdom to Earth.
